Zenaida Ladao is a family friend of Canossian Fathers, she is from Malaybalay City, Bukidnon, Philippines. She was treated out-patient for carpal tunnel syndrome bilateral last May 23, 2015.
She started having tingling and numbness of the hands for 9 months prior to her consult. Clinical assessment was carpal tunnel syndrome, bilateral. On the said date she has endoscopic carpal tunnel release under local anesthesia, bilaterally.
She had temporary relief but after two months she started to have pains in the nape and trapezius areas on both sides and the pain was radiating to both hands. An electromyography was done which revealed normal finding.
An MRI of the neck was done on September 2016 revealing ossified posterior longitudinal logament in four levels of the cervical spine, C3-C6. Due to this findings she was referred to a spine surgeon and was advised surgical intervention by the latter.
Because of her deteriorating symptoms and progression of neurologic deficits of both upper extremities with findings of significant compression of cervical cord and nerve roots surgical decompression is recommended the soonest possible time.
With the formidable cost of the procedure she is seeking financial assistance, if not treated the as soon as possible could cause paralysis.
