RAMPA Este, Eastern Samar's first provincewide Pride event!
Campaign ended. Closed for contribution. In Filipino gay slang ‘rampa’ means to walk with pride, and in our mother tongue, Waray, ‘este’ means east. Rampa Este is a highly visible assertion of our LGBT+ identity at the intersection of a rural setting characterized by poverty, deep religiosity and proneness to natural disasters (including typhoon Haiyan/Yolanda in 2013). Rampa Este is hoped to amplify our visibility, initiate inter-municipality and province-wide friendships among participants, and spark grassroots LGBT activism – overall an affirming growth experience.

Fabile House, 139 P. Burgos St., Barangay 2, San Julian 6814 Eastern Samar, San Julian, Eastern Samar, Philippines
Representing the 16 barangays of San Julian, we are LGBT farmers, fisherfolk, teachers, overseas workers, beauticians, nurses, entrepreneurs, out of work, students, and out-of-school LGBTs. We are your neighbors, friends and family members. Pride work is largely concentrated in urban centers. Rural LGBTs who also face acute sociocultural and economic vulnerabilities are unorganized and overlooked. "Rural and Equal" captures the multiplicity of our challenges and defines the intersectionality.
